This mini-course aims at equipping teachers with some introductory concepts off assessment and testing that should positively impact their teaching and develop their sensitivity to learners' needs.

In the course, issues related to validity, reliability and washback effects will be discussed and practical examples will be given to better enable teachers to judge the effectiveness of assessment tools and become more prepared to devise their own assessment tools.
