Assessing Learning 101 - Online

Assessment is an essential part of the learning process, and yet it is still a field that teachers know little about,  disempowering them from promoting the necessary assessment reforms in their contexts.

By the end of this introductory course to assessment, participants will be able to:

- Differentiate testing and assessment.

- Identify the different types of tests and explain their purposes

- Defines the main cornerstones of testing and assessment

- Explain the difference between these practices and evaluate the circumstances and contexts in which one or the other should be adopted: accountability and classroom assessment, formal and informal assessment, summative and formative assessment, traditional and authentic assessment, holistic and analytic rubrics, instrument-based and competence-based assessment.
