In this course, we will approach theoretical aspects of phonology and explore ways in which pronunciation teaching can be made practical and more present in English lessons. Teachers will have the opportunity to improve their own pronunciation knowledge, and learn techniques to help learners work on their pronunciation, too. Here's what we have for you:

What is the role of pronunciation in your lessons? Open up your heart, share and discuss ideas, and revisit your beliefs.

Decipher and master the phonemic chart.

day 2

Share and learn new ideas to give feedback to learners, helping them improve communication.

day 3

Keep calm and stress the right syllables – word stress rules (and their exceptions).

Share and learn practical ideas to identify, teach and correct word stress.

day 4

The “music” of English – focus on stress and rhythm to sound more natural and intelligible.

day 5

Master sentence stress and communicate your messages more effectively.

Put sounds together, change them and break them apart – the impacts of connected speech on oral communication.

Say what you mean and mean what you say – the roles of intonation.
