The New High School - Online

In this course, we will highlight the issues related to the new High School, mainly the specific competences of languages and their abilities. The absence of specific frameworks for English language teaching can pose a challenge for lesson preparation. Through activities that promote this teaching perspective, aligned with social practice and the concept of English as a lingua franca (ELF), we will understand what points we should keep in mind when preparing our classes, always with emphasis on the area of Languages and their Technologies. After analyzing this material, we will write new activities to consolidate the discussion and equip participants with practical and context-oriented materials.

At the end of this course, participants will receive reading references for deepening, previously designed activities, activities done in groups during the course.

Tutor? Gabriel Lemosis a teacher, teacher trainer, academic consultant, materials developer and oral examiner for international certifications. Currently, he works as a consultant at Troika and as a vice-president at the BRAZ-TESOL Rio Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Portuguese-English) and other certificates and diplomas such as the Cambridge CELTA, Delta and Train the Trainer, as well as other teaching and teacher training certifications at the University of Oregon.
