How about exchanging “what do you want to learn?” for “what do you want to build?” with children, youth and even adults? Creativity is one of the main skills to strengthen citizenship in the world as we know it today, and school rigidity often limits our creations. After all, creativity is not a divine gift and innovation is not a digital tool In this course, Caio Dib and Leila Ribeiro will share:

  • concepts about creativity and innovation in education
  • creative projects in Brazil and around the world that can inspire
  • practical tips for you to create your own projects

In the first meeting, participants will learn about concepts and practical processes of creativity, learn how to develop creative processes in education and get to know Brazilian and international cases that already do this work.

In the second meeting, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own practice and share what they have learned with the group.

Meeting 1- day 07/25 from 10 am to 12:30 pm (2:30 am)

  • Unlearn: Creativity is not a divine gift and innovation is not a digital tool
  • Creating projects in education with creativity
  • Brazilian and international cases of creative projects in education
  • Creativity Challenge!  

Meeting 2- day 01/08 from 10:00 to 12:30 (2:30)

Meeting for participants to share the result of the challenge they performed and tell about their learnings, successes, failures and challenges of the exercise. At this moment, there is the possibility of enhancing reflection on practice and exchange between peers. 

At the end of the course, detailed recommendations for readings, sources of inspiration and a "bedside book" of creativity used by Caio Dib and Leila Ribeiro. 

Leila Ribeiro is a native of Brasilia passionate about research, creativity and innovation. She is co-founder of Sala, a company created in 2007 that takes any education space – be it academic, corporate or social – with a new learning process. In addition to having a degree in Literature, Leila holds a PhD in Information Science, a Masters in Design and a Masters in Applied Linguistics from the University of Brasília (UnB), the same institution where she developed a postdoctoral research on non-conventional learning processes.  

Caio Dib graduated in journalism and works as a service designer for public education projects. In 2013, he decided to travel to Brazil for 5 months to get to know the Brazilian realities, the people of our country and practices that were innovating in basic education. He has already been part of teams from institutions such as Abril Educação, Instituto Natura, Instituto Tellus and Escola Santi. He is also the author and co-author of 4 books and has traveled around Brazil to participate in more than 200 events on education and innovation.
