Lesson Planning Bootcamp - Face to face

Planning an engaging lesson should take into account quite a few things and we need to consider our students' profiles, their needs, and what makes their heart tick -- but we also need to have clear aims and learning outcomes. In this course, we are going to explore some strategies to make sure your students make the most out of their lessons.

We'll understand and work on the rationale behind designing learning outcomes and aims. We'll go over different strategies to help you design lessons that engage your learners. We'll also work on the design of lesson plans based on a variety of learner profiles and understand how we can adapt coursebook activities to maximize and personalize the learning experience.

Tutor? Mônica Freire  is a managing partner at Troika. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature (UERJ), the RSA DOTE (University of Cambridge) and an MA in Applied Linguistics from UFRJ, in the area of Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages. She has also taken specialist courses in the areas of Teacher Development, Assessment, and CLIL from the University of Chichester, and Project Management from IBMEC. Mônica has worked in the field of ELT since 1984 as a teacher, teacher trainer, academic coordinator, international examiner, course and material designer, editorial manager at Learning Factory and educational manager with Britannia International English and Cultura Inglesa (Rio de Janeiro). She is a former professor at the English Language Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and president of Braz-Tesol Rio Chapter.
